EDNA MAHAN CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

Governor Murphy, your leadership continues to embody compassion and progress. By signing more pardons than any governor in New Jersey’s history, you have reaffirmed the state’s belief in redemption and the human capacity for change. Your steadfast support for reentry initiatives has restored dignity and hope to countless individuals and families, and your legacy will forever reflect your commitment to fairness, opportunity, and second chances. A HUGE Thank you from HBBKV

We believe education is the key to a brighter future. That's why we offer trade school scholarships, higher education supports and other educational & career development initiatives to help our community members succeed. ALL MADE POSSIBLE THROUGH NJDOC-NJLEAD
We are committed to improving access to healthcare in underserved communities. Through our valued partners at Mary Eliza Mahoney Health Center, our program participants receive medical care, dental care, and mental health services at no cost. To further remove barriers to care, transportation is also provided to and from appointments, ensuring individuals can access the services they need with dignity, consistency, and support.
Through our valued community partner, Gift-Give It for Tomorrow and other donors, we proudly offer Dress with Intention Days, an onsite workforce readiness program designed to help community members feel confident and prepared for employment opportunities. Participants receive access to professionally cleaned, ready-to-wear & new clothing in a dignified and welcoming setting without the need to stand in long lines or navigate traditional clothing distributions. Experienced stylists arrive prepared to personally assist individuals in selecting outfits that reflect confidence, professionalism, and purpose. This program is about more than clothing it is about restoring dignity, building self-esteem, and helping our community show up dressed with intention for the future they deserve.
We believe in the power of community. That's why we're working to develop and strengthen communities through holistic transitional housing, economic development, and other initiatives.
Join us in making a difference. Whether you want to donate, volunteer, or simply learn more, there are many ways to get involved and support our work.

Our Advocacy Through Arts Program uplifts the stories of women and children impacted by gun violence, incarceration, housing discrimination, and other forms of systemic injustice. It also creates space for the often-unheard experiences of those whose trauma led them from victimization into harmful behaviors, including the victim turned perpetrator. This work is done in a respectful, non-exploitative manner that honors the dignity and voice of each participant. Individuals are encouraged to share their lived experiences through a trauma-informed lens that promotes healing, accountability, understanding, and empowerment. By connecting advocacy through the arts with the creation of safe spaces, the program fosters trust, emotional expression, community dialogue, and pathways toward restoration and change.

NJPAC opened its doors for 9 powerful women of our community, to take the stage under the artistic direction of Dr. Kevin Bott. What took place was more than a performance, it was truth, healing, courage, and transformation brought to life. This is more than advocacy; it is a movement.
Through Ritual4Return, stories once silenced were given voice, pain was turned into purpose, and survivors stood in their power before a community ready to listen. The impact reached far beyond the stage, inspiring healing conversations, restoring dignity, and reminding others that their story matters too.
This work creates safe spaces where trauma can be acknowledged, resilience can be honored, and communities can begin to heal together. If you’d like to be a part of Ritual4Return and support this life-changing movement, contact us today to be a part of this Holistic approach to restorative trauma healing.
